GeoComm deploys over 1,200 ArcGIS engines in public safety agencies nationwide
In just five fiscal year quarters GeoComm has posted sales of over 1,200 ESRI ArcGIS Engine runtimes in conjunction with its popular GeoLynx 9-1-1 and GeoLynx Mobile mapping applications. These applications have been implemented for public safety agencies nationwide.
GeoComm, an ESRI partner since 1997, has over 500 public safety software customers in 37 states including Hawaii and Alaska.
"GeoLynx 9-1-1 and GeoLynx Mobile embed ESRI's ArcGIS engine runtime for E9-1-1 telecommunicators, CAD dispatchers, and emergency response vehicles operators. GeoComm is a key ESRI business partner for bringing ArcGIS technology to public safety agencies," said Russ Johnson, public safety industry manager for ESRI.
"GeoComm started re-mastering our ESRI MapObjects code base to ArcGIS Engine in 2006," said John Brosowsky, Product Development Director for GeoComm. "ArcGIS Engine gives our emergency GIS applications new capabilities like displaying Web map services depicting current weather and other real-time dynamic data. ArcGIS Engine dynamic display provides a very fluid user experience for in-vehicle navigation and heads up displays. Building on the ArcGIS framework has especially helped our software integrate seamlessly into larger customers' existing ArcGIS enterprises."
GeoLynx 9-1-1 is an emergency dispatch GIS that connects directly to enhanced 9-1-1 systems for automatic map display of wireline, wireless, Voice over IP calls, as well as Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) calls for service. With the addition of GeoLynx AVL, GeoLynx 9-1-1 tracks vehicles using GPS. GeoLynx Mobile is mobile response GIS that provides similar capabilities as GeoLynx 9-1-1 tailored to an in-vehicle environment.
